JAKARTA. PT Ancora Indonesia Resources Tbk (OKAS) plans to build a booster factory to reduce import of raw materials for its detonation process.
According to OKAS CEO Rolaw P. Samosir, the factory will reduce the company's import because it has always purchased boosters from overseas.
He added that OKAS's subsidiary PT Multi Nitroma Kimia has prepared a number of strategies, including product diversification and building a booster factory. "This is to anticipate the volatility of the coal industry," Mr Samosir said as quoted from Kontan.co.id this week.
The company is currently seeking a partner to build the factory in East Kalimantan. The budget is estimated in the range of US$2.5 million-3 million. (AM/MS)
