PPATK investigates Rp 100 billion funds in Jiwasraya scandal

04 September 2020 12:40

JAKARTA. The Financial Transaction Reporting and Analysis Centre (PPATK) is still investigating the flow of funds amounting to Rp 100 trillion in the PT Asuransi Jiwasraya (Persero) scandal to determine normal and suspicious transactions.

According to PPATK Head Dian Ediana Rae, since January 2008 to August this year there were transactions amounting to Rp 100 trillion in total, consisting of funds in and out of Jiwasraya through investment managers and other parties.

"We are still clarifying some matters that seem suspicious," Ms Rae said at a meeting with the House of Representatives' Commission III, Thursday (3/9).

The investigation, she added, will take a long time because PPATK needs to examine every flow of funds. The investigation involves 53 banks and 49 non-bank financial institutions. "Our principle is to follow the money," she said. (AM/MS)
