JAKARTA - Indonesia's economy is projected to be contracted by 1%-3% in the third quarter of 2020. This was stated by Airlangga Hartarto, Coordinating Minister for Economics Affairs in a virtual discussion, yesterday (13/9).

The government, he said, was not worried about whether Indonesia would experience a recession or not, since 215 other countries affected by COVID-19 also experienced the same thing.

According to him, the government is trying so that the contraction will not reach 5% in the third quarter of 2020. To achieve this, he continued, the government is encouraging more investment through government spending. (LK/AR)
