Five SOEs sign a memorandum to merge their hotel businesses

JAKARTA. At least five State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) signed a memorandum of understanding regarding the merger / consolidation of state-owned hotels.

The five SOEs are PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero), PT Hotel Indonesia Natour (Persero), PT Pertamina (Persero), PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) and PT Pegadaian (Persero). The five SOEs are committed to consolidating their hotel businesses, which consist of 22 hotels and two hotel managers.

Deputy Minister of SOEs Kartika Wirjoatmodjo stated in her written statement on Monday (14/9) said that there was a need to merge those businesses so that the SOEs could focus more on their core business. "SOEs need to return to their respective core businesses," she said. (AM/AR)
