JAKARTA - PT Pelabuhan Indonesia II (Persero) / IPC together with PT Bukit Asam Tbk. (PTBA) signed a Head of Agreement (HoA) or Master Agreement regarding the Development of Coal Transportation and / or Other Commodities Through Rivers and Ports in South Sumatra.

The signing of the HoA, which is valid for two years, was carried out by the Director of Business Transformation and Development of IPC, Ogi Rulino and PTBA's Director of Business Development, Fuad I. Z. Fachroeddin on Friday, 11 September 2020. This synergy is one of the IPC and PTBA's efforts to succeed and build the economy of South Sumatra as a national energy barn by optimizing the development of coal transportation.

"We will provide sea transportation services in the development of coal transportation and other commodities to provide added value to the economy of South Sumatra Province. Starting in the fourth quarter of 2020, the Palembang Port Branch also plans to handle the loading and unloading of coal at PTBA's grandchild company, namely PT Penajam International Terminal in the Selat Tanjung Kampeh area, Bangka Strait, South Sumatra," explained Ogi Rulino.

This synergy between IPC and PTBA is not the first. Currently, IPC, through its Palembang Port Branch, has served PTBA's coal barge services, from January to August 2020 recording as many as 437 coal barges that have been served. (LM)
