JAKARTA - State-owned cement manufacturer PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SMGR) is strengthening its digital sales platforms to overcome issues that arise during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

According to Semen Indonesia Head of Digital Marketing Ameria Sumantri, the company has partnered a number of building materials stores in its marketing areas to encourage online transactions through its AksesToko.id platform.

“Hopefully these partnerships can encourage more transactions to maintain the market targets of brands under the Semen Indonesia Group (SIG),” Ms Sumantri said in an official statement on the Ministry of State-owned Enterprises’ website, Monday (16/9).

In addition to AksesToko.id, Semen Indonesia has also launched an official store on Tokopedia with trial areas in Greater Jakarta. So far, the company’s online transactions are dominated by markets in Java and Bali.

“This pandemic serves as a momentum that encourages our digital transformation in order to provide additional values to customers,” Ms Sumantri said.

“This digital transformation will also allow SIG to enter new, wider markets with more precise segmentation.” (MS)
