JAKARTA - The Ministry of Industry is increasingly encouraging small and medium industry (IKM) players to be able to adapt to new habits during the Covid-19 pandemic. IKM players need to be supported in an effort to increase efficiency, effectiveness, innovation, and creativity so that their businesses continue to run.

"In this condition, we really support the efforts of our IKM friends to be able to adapt, including to implement strict health protocols. Apart from that, we need a breakthrough in sales or promotion," said the Director General of Small, Medium and Miscellaneous Industries (IKMA) of the Ministry of Industry, Gati Wibawaningsih in Jakarta, Wednesday (16/9).

The Director General of IKMA explained that his party together with related stakeholders had launched various strategic programs to support the development of IKM in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic. For example, the #SemuanyaAdaDisini campaign as part of the #BanggaBuatanIndonesia National Movement.

"There are a total of 1.6 million SMIs participating in the #SemuanyaAdaDisini movement, which is a program to support a campaign to use local products launched by President Joko Widodo with the tagline Bangga Buatan Indonesia," she explained.

Gati hopes that the Bangga Buatan Indonesia movement will be able to accommodate the needs of SMI players from the marketing side so that they can continue to carry out the production process and earn income. To support this, the Ministry of Industry is actively holding training and mentoring virtually for SMI players due to pandemic conditions. (LM)
