JAKARTA - The Indonesian Stock Exchange (IDX) encourages a number of parties to be involved in increasing capital market literacy among Indonesian people so that more people will invest. This was conveyed by Pandu Sjahrir, President Commissioner of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) in a virtual discussion yesterday (17/9).
According to him, the number of investors in Indonesia's capital market is still considered low considering Indonesia's large population of 270 million. "The number of investors is still very small, less than 2% of Indonesia's population of 3.1 million people," he said.
Susy Meiliana, President Director of PT MNC Sekuritas, said that the existence of digital products and services has helped to increase investor growth amid the COVID-19 pandemic. "People don't have to go to branch offices or submit physical documents," he said. (LK/AR)
