JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) said in his remarks during the Limited Meeting regarding Food Estate, which was broadcasted via Setkab's Youtube channel today (23/9) that the development of the Food Estate in Central Kalimantan should be completed as soon as possible.
Jokowi said that the area would be divided into irrigated land for rice (148,000 hectares (Ha)) and non-irrigated land for cassava, maize and livestock (22,000 Ha). "Those related to the supporting infrastructure, road access, should also be completed soon in so that we won't face difficulties in delivering agricultural machinery," said Jokowi.
Jokowi also said that the food estate development should be carefully calculated. "If the business model is correct, we will use it in other provinces," he said. (LK/AR)
