JAKARTA. Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR) of India has stopped investigating the allegation of dumping practices, and it has exempted Indonesian non-woven fabric products from Anti-Dumping Import Duty.
Agus Suparmanto, Minister of Trade, said that the termination of the investigation is a positive signal for the Indonesian textile industry in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. "Moreover, the textile industry is a labor-intensive industry and has become one of Indonesia's leading interests," said Suparmanto.
For information, the initial investigation into allegations of dumping practices for non-woven fabric products from Indonesia began from 16 June 2016 to 2 September 2017. However, on 1 July 2020, DGTD conducted another investigation according to the decision of the Indian customs office.
The Ministry of Trade noted that India is the largest export market for Indonesian non-woven fabrics, with total export value of US$11.4 million. (KR/AR)
