JAKARTA - The government continues to accelerate the availability of the COVID-19 vaccine through bilateral and multilateral channels. This was conveyed by Erick Thohir, MInister of SOEs and Chief Executive of the COVID-19 Handling and National Economic Recovery Committee in Jakarta, Thursday (24/9).
The government, he said, is exploring cooperation with pharmaceutical companies such as Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson and Novafax. This effort is made in addition to the cooperation that has been made established with PT Biofarma and Sinovac, PT Kimia Farma Tbk (KAEF) and G42 UEA, Genexine, CanSino, and AstraZeneca.
"Coupled with multilateral cooperation with UNICEF under the COVAX Facility, efforts to accelerate the availability of vaccines for the public are on the right track," he said.
Erick emphasized that strategic steps and coordination between ministries and institutions are also being carried out to anticipate more massive spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. (LK/AR)
