JAKARTA. PT Barito Pacific Tbk (BRPT) extended its buyback period until 29 December 2020. Previously, the buyback was planned to be ended on 12 June 2020.

Rudy Suparman, Deputy Director of BRPT, said that the maximum number of shares that the company will repurchase is 2% of the company's total issued and fully paid capital.

Suparman also stated that the buyback did not have a significant negative impact on BRPT, since the funds used for the buyback came from the company's internal cash. At the end of August 2020, the company's cash and cash equivalents were recorded at US$784.06 million or around Rp11.72 trillion.

According to the data gathered by idnfinancials.com, in August 2020, BRPT had 536.47 million treasury shares, equivalent to 0.57% of all of the company's shares. (KR/AR)
