JAKARTA - The Business Competition Supervisory Commission (KPPU) filed an appeal for the South Jakarta District Court's verdict last week (25/9) which canceled fines imposed on Grab and Gojek.

Deswin Nur, Head of the Public Relations Bureau of KPPU, said that KPPU is currently preparing an appeal. "We expect that in the first week of October 2020, the appeal can be submitted," he said in a press release published on Thursday (1/10).

He said that KPPU had decided on 2 July 2020 to impose Rp30 billion and Rp19 billion fine on PT Solusi Transportasi Indonesia (Grab) and PT Teknologi Penggawai Indonesia (Gojek), for violations of Articles 14 and 19 in Law (UU) No.5 / 1999 concerning Monopoly and Unfair Business Competition.
