JAKARTA - PT Angkasa Pura (Persero) I, the manager of 15 airports in Indonesia, recorded a 5.7% decline in passenger traffic to 1,853,378 in September 2020 compared to August 2020 (1,965,935). This is mainly caused by the implementation of the Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) policy.

In a press release published on Wednesday (7/10), Faik Fahmi, President Director of PT Angkasa Pura (Persero) I said that the growth in aircraft traffic was not followed by the growth in passenger traffic. "Aircraft traffic at all Angkasa Pura I airports reached 27,009, higher than its record in August 2020 (26,362), "he said.

In addition to the growth in aircraft traffic, AP I also recorded a growth in cargo traffic, from 35,437,261 kg in August 2020 to 37,075,502 kg. "The level of trust has not recovered yet amid the COVID-19 pandemic, and the tightening of the PSBB policy has had a psychological impact on people, "he said.

The management of AP I, he said, had made it easier for passengers to travel by providing rapid test facilities at its airports. (LK/AR)
