JAKARTA - The selection committee of the members of Judicial Commission (KY) has chosen Joko Sasmito and Sukma Violetta, two incumbent members, to stay as members of KY for tne next five years. Meanwhile, the other names that have been submitted to President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) are M Taufik HZ, Binziad Kadafi, Amzulian Rifai, Mukti Fajar Nur Dewata, and Siti Nurjanah.
Joko Sasmito, who was born in Mojokerto on 12 May 1957, previously served as the Head of Prevention and Capacity Building for Judges at KY.
Sukma Violetta, who was born in Jakarta on 10 August 1964, previously served as Chairman of the Supervision and Investigation Division at KY. She was known as a legal activist and used to work as a senior researcher at the Indonesian Center for Environmental Law (ICEL).
The new KY members will replace existing member whose term of office will end on 20 December 2020. (LK/AR)
