JAKARTA - Air traffic at 15 airports operated by PT Angkasa Pura I (Persero) or AP I rose slightly to 27,009 movements in September 2020, up 2.4% from 26,362 movements in August.
In addition, cargo traffic in September grew 4.6% to 37,075,502 kg, although passenger traffic dropped 5.7% to 1,853,378 people.
“Air traffic growth which was not accompanied by passenger traffic growth shows that people have yet to fully restore their confidence when it comes to air travel,” said AP I CEO Faik Fahmi in an official statement on the Ministry of State-owned Enterprises’ website, Tuesday (6/10).
“In addition, the implementation of large-scale social restrictions in Jakarta has a psychological impact on the public when it comes to travelling.”
During the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, AP I provides rapid test facilities at 11 airports with a price of Rp 85,000 per person. The facilities are expected to assist air passengers during the Adaptation to New Habits period. (MS)
