Ministry of Industry launches Startup4industry 2020

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Industry once again launched the Startup4industry program as a concrete manifestation of implementing the Making Indonesia 4.0 road map. This strategic step is believed to be able to bridge the needs of industry players and the community towards the role of startups as technology providers.

"Cooperation with startup players is expected to provide benefits to the priority industrial sectors contained in the roadmap for Making Indonesia 4.0," said Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita at the Startup4industry 2020 launch event which was held virtually, Wednesday (14/10).

With the theme "Indonesia Is Confident in Domestic Technology", Startup4industry 2020 is also expected to contribute to suppressing the impact of the pandemic in the industrial sector, through efforts to utilize modern technology.

Agus continued, Startup4Industry activities supported economic rebooting through the IKM sector in the momentum of the pandemic. The reason is, currently, the startup industry is dominated by players in the early stage with the scale of Medium and Small Enterprises (MSEs).

On the same occasion, Director General of Small, Medium and Various Industries (IKMA) Gati Wibawaningsih explained, the Startup4Industry 2020 program has a series of activities that will last until December 2020. The agenda for this activity also includes a discussion of solutions between problem owners and technology startups, Tech Link or startup business meetings with industry, especially the IKM sector, as well as conducting webinars and workshop series.
