JAKARTA - The publc prosecutor of the Anti-Corruption Court at the Central Jakarta District Court is demanding life imprisonment for Benny Tjokrosaputro, Commissioner of PT Hanson International Tbk (MYRX) due to his role in Jiwasraya corruption case.
"We demand that in this case, the panel of judges at the Anti-Corruption Court at the Central Jakarta District Court, to decide and declare that the defendant legally proven and convicted of committing the crime of corruption and money laundering," said KMS Roni, the public prosecutor, during the session at the Anti-Corruption Court onThursday (15/10)
The prosecutor asked the panel of judges to impose a life sentence and a Rp5 billion fine.
The defendants, Heru Hidayat and Benny Tjokro made a share sale and purchase agreement to increase the price of certain shares such as SMRU, IKP, TRAM, and MRYX. After that, they sold those shares to Jiwasraya. (LK/AR)
