JAKARTA. The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) noted that Indonesia's export performance grew by 6.97% on a Month on Month (MoM) basis in September 2020.

Suhariyanto, Head of BPS, explained that the export value during September 2020 was recorded at US$14.01 billion, higher than its record in the previous month of US$13.10 billion.

The export value for the oil and gas sector was recorded at US$0.70 billion or around 5.02% of the total export value in September 2020. Meanwhile, the non-oil and gas export value was recorded at US$13.31 billion.

However, when compared with the export performance in September 2019, the record this year was 0.51% lower. "We experienced a decline, but the decline was very, very small," said Suhariyanto.

For information, non-oil and gas export was still dominated by export activities from the industrial sector (82.54%) followed by mining (9.49%), and agriculture (2.95%). (KR/AR)
