Ministry of Trade announces partnership with Gojek

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Trade once again showed its commitment in developing capacity and strengthening people's markets. This commitment was shown by the Ministry of Trade's Directorate General of Domestic Trade (PDN), which signed a cooperation agreement with PT Aplikasi Karya Anak Bangsa (Gojek) regarding the "Capacity Development and Strengthening People's Markets by Utilizing Gojek Application Services".

Trade Minister Agus revealed that this cooperation agreement is a follow-up to the memorandum of understanding between the Directorate General of PDN of the Ministry of Trade and the Gojek Application as a provider of basic goods shopping services for the community dated April 20, 2020. "This is a form of our commitment in developing capacity and strengthening people's markets. through the Gojek application. It is hoped that these efforts can contribute to improving the Indonesian economy,” said Trade Minister Agus.

He further explained that the scope of this cooperation agreement includes capacity building and strengthening of the people's market which includes providing information, education, socialization, and training on the use of GoShop or other services on the Gojek application. GoShop is a service within the Gojek ecosystem that connects users with traditional market traders.

This agreement also includes assistance from the Gojek application in the form of training for trainers in public markets appointed by the Ministry of Trade, for fostered business actors. The goal is that business actors can develop businesses in the field of electronic commerce, which are expected to spread to other business actors. In addition, program implementation includes training for community market ecosystems, but is not limited to training, but also includes provision of runners. (LM)
