Mitratel purchases 6,050 telecommunications towers from Telkomsel

JAKARTA - PT Dayamitra Telekomunikasi (Mitratel) will manage 22,000 telecommunication tower units following the purchase of 6,050 telecommunication towers from PT Telekomunikasi Selular (Telkomsel). This was conveyed by Andi Setiawan, VP Investor Relations of PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (TLKM) in Jakarta, Friday (16/10).

Andi Setiawan, VP Investor Relations of PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (TLKM) stated today (15/10) that the towers were purchased for Rp10.3 trillion. "The telecommunications towers will strengthen Mitratel's business and at the same time realize its long-term plan," he said.

According to him, the two Telkom subsidiaries will now focus on their respective main businesses. Telkomsel will focus on being a digital telecommunications company, while Mitratel will focus on providing infrastructure and telecommunications towers.

"Mitratel manages telecommunication towers that are spread throughout Indonesia and serves all cellular operators," he said. (LK/AR)
