JAKARTA. The government rejects the idea to eliminate new car tax (0% tax for new cars).
"We will not consider eliminating new car tax. We are trying to provide support to the industrial sector as a whole," said Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati at her presentation regarding the state budget on Monday (19/10).
She said that the government would focus on optimizing the incentive package that had been issued for all industry players.
The government has issued many incentives to maintain the competitiveness of national industries, while keep evaluating them.
Previously, the Ministry of Industry has proposed the idea of 0% tax for new cars. (AM/AR)
