JAKARTA. The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources reported that oil and gas lifting reached 1,689,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boepd) as of September 2020.

According to the ministry's Head of Communications Agung Pribadi, the realisation will provide a positive signal for the oil and gas industry in Indonesia. "This is positive news for the oil and gas sector amid the COVID-19 pandemic, which has suppressed global oil prices and operational activities," Mr Pribadi said in an official statement on Saturday (24/10).

In addition, Mr Pribadi also said he appreciates the Oil and Gas Task Force's effort to push contractors to boost exploration activities.

According to data from the Task Force, oil and gas lifting as of Q3 consisted of 706,200 barrels of oil per day (bopd), or 100.2% of the target of 705,000 bopd in the Revised State Budget, and 5,502 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscfd) of gas lifting, 99.3% of the target of 5,556 mmscfd in the Revised Budget. (KR/MS)
