JAKARTA - Six airports operated by PT Angkasa Pura I (Persero) or AP I have received a stimulus through subsidies on Air Passenger Service Tariffs for tickets purchased from 23 October to 31 December 2020.

The six airports are Ahmad Yani International Airport in Semarang, Central Java; Yogyakarta International Airport in Kulon Progo, Yogyakarta; I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport in Denpasar, Bali; Lombok International Airport in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara; and Sam Ratulangi International Airport in Manado, North Sulawesi.

The policy was established through a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed by AP I and the Ministry of Transportation's Directorate-General of Air Transportation on Thursday (22/10).

"As an airport operator, we really appreciate effort to accelerate economic recovery, especially for the aviation industry which has been heavily affected by the COVID-19 global pandemic," AP I CEO Faik Fahmi said in an official statement on the Ministry of State-owned Enterprises' website on Thursday.

As of 30 September, the 15 airports operated by AP I only served 24,560,143 passengers, down 58% from 61,159,240 in 2019. In addition, aircraft traffic also dropped 45% to 308,669 movements from 568,514 movements in 2019. (MS)
