JAKARTA. The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) is accelerating the completion of six toll road projects in the Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang and Bekasi (Jabodetabek) areas.
The six toll road sections are Cimanggis-Cibitung, Cinere-Serpong, Bogor Ring Road, Cengkareng-Kunciran, Cibitung-Cilincing, Bekasi-Cawang-Kampung Melayu, and Sampurna-Kayuringin toll roads. All of these sections are targeted to start operating in November and December 2020.
"The toll road sections can reduce logistics costs and increase Indonesia's competitiveness in attracting investment," said Basuki Hadimuljono, Minister of PUPR, through an official statement.
Several of the six toll road sections have also gone through a feasibility trial, which was carried out by an evaluation team from the Ministry of PUPR, Ministry of Transportation, and the Traffic Corps of the Indonesian Police (Korlantas Polri). The ministry claims that those toll road sections will improve traffic in the Jabodetabek area and support economic growth. (KR/AR)
