Pupuk Indonesia distributes 6.9 million tonnes of subsidised fertilisers as of October

JAKARTA - As of 21 October 2020 state-owned fertiliser producer PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) distributed 6,902,343 tonnes of subsidised fertilisers to farmer.

The amount consisted of 3,069,615 tonnes of urea, 478,965 tonnes of SP-36, 643,806 tonnes of ZA, 2,249,877 tonnes of NPK, and 460,080 tonnes of organic fertilisers, and was 78% of the 2020 national allocation of 8,900,467 tonnes as stipulated in Regulation of the Minister of Agriculture No. 27 of 2020.

"We are committed to optimising the distribution of subsidised fertilisers to farmers in accordance with the allocation set by the Ministry of Agriculture," said Pupuk Indonesia Head of Corporate Communications Wijaya Laksana in an official statement on the Ministry of State-owned Enterprises' website, Friday (30/11).

Currently, he added, there are 1.4 million tonnes of subsidised fertilisers and 870,000 tonnes of non-subsidised fertilisers in stock. The distribution of fertilisers is carried out by Pupuk Indonesia's subsidiaries, namely PT Pupuk Iskandar Muda, PT Pupuk Sriwidjaja, PT Petrokimia Gresik, PT Pupuk Kujang, and PT Pupuk Kaltim.

"The fertilisers are available in lines I through III and official kiosks. This aims to anticipate high demand in order to maintain the productivity of the agriculture sector," Mr Laksana said. (MS)
