JAKARTA - President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo officially signed the Job Creation Omnibus Bill into Law No. 11 of 2020 on Job Creation on Monday (2/11).
The law contains 11 clusters, 15 chapters, and 186 articles and revises 77 previous laws.
“The Job Creation Law is expected to be able to absorb the widest possible Indonesian workforce amid increasingly competitive competition and the demands of economic globalisation,” State Secretary Pratikno said in an official statement on the Cabinet Secretariat’s website.
In addition, he also said that the law adjusts various regulatory aspects related to the convenience, protection, and empowerment of cooperatives and MSMEs; improvement of the investment ecosystem; acceleration of national strategic projects; and improving the protection and welfare of workers. (MS)
