JAKARTA. Minister of Trade Agus Suparmanto claimed that the contribution of the retail sector to national economic growth remained large despite the pandemic.
This was conveyed by Suparmanto in his remarks for the 2020 National Retail Day on 11 November 2020. "The contribution of retail was recorded at 12.83 percent and 57.31 percent from the consumption side," said Suparmanto.
During the last five years, said Suparmanto, trade has always contributed more than 10% of Indonesia's GDP. Meanwhile, consumption always contributes more than 50% of Indonesia's GDP.
