COVID-19: Health ceiling in National Economic Recovery budget adjusted to Rp 97.6 trillion

JAKARTA - The ceiling of the health cluster in the National Economic Recovery budget has been adjusted to Rp 97.6 trillion, said Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati.

According to Ms Indrawati, from the ceiling 35% or Rp 34.07 trillion was realised in the third quarter (Q3) for medical personnel, spending on the handling of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the COVID-19 Task Force, compensation for families of deceased medical personnel, National Health Insurance (JKN) premium assistance, and health taxation incentives.

In total, as of Q3 55.1% or Rp 383.01 trillion of the Rp 695.2 trillion National Economic Recovery budget was realised across all clusters, namely healthcare, social protection, ministries and government agencies, MSMEs, corporate financing, and business incentives.

“The National Economic Recovery realisation, in terms of absorption, experienced an extraordinary acceleration in the third quarter, and we will continue monitoring the absorption in the fourth quarter,” Ms Indrawati told the House of Representatives’ Commission XI on Thursday, 12 November 2020.
