Alfamart continues to expand outside Java

JAKARTA. In the last five years, PT Sumber Alfaria Trijaya Tbk (AMRT) has gradually reduced the number of its retail outlets in Java, as well as opening new outlets outside Java.

AMRT's management said that in 2016, 72.3% of retail outlets operated by the company were located in Java,  34.3% of them located in the DKI Jakarta area, 38% in other provinces in Java, and 27.7% outside Java.

"In the last five years there has been a shift in new stores from the Greater Jakarta area to areas outside Java," said AMRT's management through the disclosure published on the Indonesia Stock Exchange's website. 

However, this percentage has changed now AMRT management said that as of September 2020, only 32.5% of the company's retail outlets are located in DKI Jakarta, 36.9% are located in other provinces in Java, and 30.6% are outside Java Island.

By September 2020, the company has opened 17,123 outlets, consisting of 13,232 self-owned outlets and 3,897 franchise outlets. (KR/AR)
