JAKARTA - The Indonesian government will only purchase vaccines from companies registered with the World Health Organization (WHO), as stated by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) in a press conference uploaded to the Setkab Youtube channel on Wednesday (18/11).

"All vaccines to be used must be included in the WHO list. This is mandatory," said him.

According to Jokowi, the vaccine will arrive in Indonesia at the end of December 2020. Before distribution to the public, the vaccine must have Emergency Use of Authorization from the Indonesian Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM).

Joko Widodo emphasized that COVID-19 vaccination must be carried out based on scientific principles to make it safe for everyone. "We want the safety to be prioritized," said Jokowi

He said that the vaccination process would be started at the end of December 2020 or the beginning of 2021. (LK/AR)
