Leverage of PEN funds in banks has reached 3.94 times

JAKARTA. The total value of credit distributed by the members of State-Owned Banks Association (Himbara), regional development banks (BPD) and Islamic banks has reached IDR 254.37 trillion, or nearly four times of the state funds placed in those banks (IDR 64.5 trillion).

Director-General of Treasury, Ministry of Finance, Andin Hadiyanto, said that the leverage has reached 3.94 times.

To support the State Economic Recovery (PEN) program, the government has placed state funds in details in Himbara banks.(IDR 47.5 trillion), 11 BPDs (IDR 14 trillion), and 3 Islamic banks (IDR 3 trillion).

As of 20 November 2020, Himbara has distributed IDR 218.36 trillion of credit, followed by BPD (IDR 30.12 trillion), and Islamic banks (IDR 5.89 trillion). (AM/AR)
