JAKARTA - The budget for government spending in 2021 has been set at Rp 2,750 trillion, including Rp Rp 1,032 trillion allocated for ministries and government agencies.
“The total of government spending in 2021 will reach Rp 2,750 trillion, in which Rp 1,032 trillion will be allocated for 87 ministries and government agencies,” said Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati at the presentation of the Ministry and Government Agency Budget Implementation Checklist on Wednesday (25/11).
According to Ms Indrawati, the primary focuses of government spending in 2021 are handling the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, supporting national economic recovery, and strengthening policy reforms.
“The Rp 1,032 trillion allocation for ministries and government agencies aims to support the national economic recovery programme as well as strengthening the fundamentals of the economic structure to increase competitiveness, productivity, and innovation,” she said.
The 2021 State Budget deficit target has been set at 5.7% of the gross domestic product (GDP), lower than the 2020 Budget deficit target. This, Ms Indrawati added, reflects a fiscal consolidated direction that is well-measured and gradual while remaining expansive. (MS)
