JAKARTA - PT Emdeki Utama Tbk (MDKI), a carbide producer, projects its profit performance at the end of the year will be IDR 43.92 billion, higher than the same period last year at IDR 32.51 billion.
Happy Hapsoro, Corporate Secretary of MDKI, said that the increase in revenue was driven by sales volume growth reaching 20,528 tons of calcium carbide, 1.3 percent higher than the same period last year at 20,260 tons. "Profits will grow 35% at the end of the year, profits will increase compared to the same period last year," he said in a press release on Thursday (26/11).
As of the third quarter of 2020, MDKI recorded sales volume of calcium carbide as much as 14,775 tons; while the profit was at IDR 30.42 billion, higher than profit realization at the end of 2019.
According to him, MDKI management was still able to maintain growth stability despite in pandemic. "The uncertainty in global trade policy amidst this pandemic is overshadowing the growth of main trading partner countries which has projected to slow down," he said. (LK/VA)
