GMFI operational performance improves in third quarter

27 November 2020 09:19

JAKARTA - PT Garuda Maintenance Facility Aero Asia Tbk (GMFI) recorded an increase in the number of flight activities in the third quarter to the middle of the fourth quarter of 2020.

This increase in aviation activity has raised GMFI’s optimism for the rise of the aviation industry during the COVID-19 pandemic. The increased flight activity is expected to help boost GMF performance improvements by increasing work orders for flight hours based maintenance.

President Director of GMFI, I Wayan Susena, did not deny that GMFI was affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. "The pandemic has an impact on many sectors, especially the aviation industry. However, we cannot just remain silent, at times like this, various business adjustment efforts are still being made quickly to accelerate the Company's recovery." said Wayan.

In the third quarter of 2020, GMFI has recorded a growth in the number of production events by more than 100% in the engine maintenance business sector compared to the previous quarter. Another positive achievement was also felt by the component maintenance business sector, which recorded a 38% growth in production events compared to the previous quarter.

Entering the fourth quarter, GMF has received several requests to work on the redelivery project. The increase in redelivery projects is one of the driving forces for an increase in the number of events in the airframe maintenance business sector, so that it is able to grow 13% compared to the previous quarter.
