JAKARTA - The government is committed to providing a stimulus package for tourism as one of the sectors most heavily affected by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic in the 2021 State Budget, said Deputy Finance Minister Suahasil Nazara.
“The Budget will respond by issuing extraordinary policy. Government spending has been contracted due to a decline in economic activities,” said Mr Nazara at the National Coordination Meeting of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, Thursday (26/11).
According to him, tourism in Indonesia will recover with support from numerous parties.
“The central government’s support is in the form of expenditures by ministries and government agencies, state-owned enterprises, the private sector, and local governments,” Mr Nazara added. (MS)
