JCI climbs 3.8% last week

JAKARTA - In the 4th week of November 2020, the Indonesian Capital Market once again recorded an increase in trade data. The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) gained almost 4 percent, precisely at 3.80 percent or at 5,783,335 from the position of 5,571,656 at the closing in the previous week.

The stock exchange market capitalization also experienced the same increase as the JCI by 3.80 percent or reaching Rp 6,720,947 trillion from Rp 6,474,868 trillion in the previous week. Meanwhile, last week the highest increase occurred in the average volume of transactions, which increased significantly by 60.54 percent to 29.245 billion shares from 18.217 billion shares the previous week.

The next increase occurred in the average daily transaction value during the week, which was 19.85 percent or Rp14.880 trillion from Rp12.416 trillion at the closing in the previous week. Then, the average daily frequency during the week also increased drastically by 22.63 percent to 1,163,863 thousand transactions compared to 949,073 thousand transactions in the previous week.

On Wednesday (25/11), the Exchange recorded the highest daily transaction frequency record in history, amounting to 1,413,066 share transactions during one trading day. During 2020, foreign investors recorded net sell of Rp 40,581.06 trillion. (LM)
