JAKARTA - The government will conduct vaccinations in eight provinces, representing 70% of Indonesia's population, starting next year. This was conveyed by Luhut Binsar Panjaitan, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, in Jakarta on Wednesday (2/11).

He said that he had received an assignment from President Joko Widodo to tackle the spread of COVID-19. "Soon, it will be followed up by giving vaccines throughout the country in 2021," he said.

According to him, the vaccine supply was expected to be available in December 2021. When the COVID-19 pandemic could be overcome, he said, investors might consider Indonesia as an investment destination.

"Starting next year, economic growth will grow better," he said. (LK/VA)
