JAKARTA - During January-June 2020, the sales of PT Satyamitra Kemas Lestari (SMKL) only reached Rp 832.47 billion (60,017 tons), a slight decrease compared to the same period in 2019 of Rp 918.69 billion (60,437 tons).

The Company's profit before tax experienced a sharp jump to Rp20.140 billion during the January-June 2020 period, compared to Rp765.35 million obtained in the same period in 2019.

In the virtual public expose today (3/12), the President Director of SMKL Ang Kinardo said that the company estimates that sales in Semester II-2020 will increase slightly to Rp 850 billion (62,000 tons) from Rp 832.47 billion (60,437 tons). So that sales during 2020 are projected to reach Rp1.68 trillion.

In 2021, the government has designated four industrial sectors as priorities for the Industrial Revolution 4.0. The four sectors are the food and beverage sector, the textile and clothing sector, the automotive sector and the biochemical sector as well as the electronics sector.

The company's future prospects will go hand in hand with the growth of the aforementioned sectors. The packaging industry, which is the Company's product, will play an important role in these sectors. This is because packaged products will become a product's competitiveness, especially for products that are directly consumed by the public (consumer goods) and retail products. (LM)
