Visa and Gojek collaborate to encourage growth of MSME business in Indonesia

JAKARTA - Visa, the world's leader in digital payments, announced a collaboration with Gojek, a leading provider of digital payment technology and on-demand services. Visa launched a campaign "UMKM Bisa!" which aims to empower micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) under the auspices of Gojek in Indonesia. UMKM Bisa! Campaign presents a set of instruments, knowledge, and business insights for MSMEs that have joined the Gojek ecosystem to be able to survive and grow in the midst of a pandemic and beyond.

UMKM Bisa! provides various videos, infographics, and e-learning modules targeting 600,000 Gojek MSME merchants and communicating this initiative to around seven million other MSME merchants, and applying a three-stage approach to support maximum business capacity development. MSMEs players will receive a series of interactive modules that can be studied independently, and if ready, take quizzes to test their understanding of the material presented. After passing the quiz, MSME players will receive a certificate of graduation and the opportunity to win a number of attractive prizes.

Riko Abdurrahman, President Director of Visa Indonesia, said: “We are delighted to partner with Gojek in launching UMKM Bisa! campaign which provides online tools and knowledge for MSME players to strengthen their business. As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, many business actors are affected and need support.”

Gojek has implemented various approaches in supporting MSMEs to be able to go digital. In addition to providing business solutions from upstream to downstream through discovery, payment, logistics, and other business services in its ecosystem, Gojek also provides opportunities for MSMEs to develop their business capabilities through access to capacity building programs that are implemented independently or through partnerships.
