JAKARTA - PT Sri Rejeki Isman Tbk (SRIL) or Sritex exported eight containers of military attire to the Philippines on Monday (14/12). The Philippines is the eighth country in the Asia-Pacific region that has become the company's export destination for military attire.

According to Sritex President Director Iwan Setiawan Lukminto, the company's other export destinations in Asia-Pacific are Malaysia, Brunei Darussalam, Timor-Leste, Singapore, Nepal, and Australia. "In total, Sritex's products are exported to 36 countries globally," he said in a press release on Thursday (17/12).

The export, he said, is expected to start the development of Indonesian military attire in the Philippines and encourage other business actors to enter the country's market. "Amid the current situation, economic collaboration between Indonesia and the Philippines remain stable and secure," Mr Lukminto said.

From January to October 2020, trade between Indonesia and the Philippines was worth US$5.19 billion, with export to the Philippines amounting to US$4.75 billion and import from the country amounting to US$441 million. (LK/MS)
