JAKARTA - PT Amartha Mikro Fintek or Amartha, a pioneer of peer to peer lending fintech or funding that focuses on empowering women micro entrepreneurs in villages targets a distribution of Rp 2.6 trillion in 2021. The capital will be distributed to more than 650 thousand women micro entrepreneurs, Small and Medium in Java, Sulawesi and Sumatra.

Andi Taufan Garuda Putra, Founder and CEO of Amartha said, "Amartha's business growth is very good, until December 2020, the distribution of funding has increased by 21.22% at Rp 2.92 trillion. The growth in the number of MSME players who received funding also increased by 11.65% to 588,283 Partners.”

In terms of macro, MSME activities are starting to recover. In 2021, Amartha is very optimistic that along with the economic recovery, the quality of funding distribution will also improve. In addition, several strategies have been prepared to be able to serve 1 million partners (accumulated) this year, one of which is by building a digital ecosystem to increase the digital inclusion of MSMEs in villages.

Amartha seeks to increase digital financial inclusion through the creation of products that suit the needs of the informal MSME sector by implementing a financial inclusion strategy framework which consists of three pillars, namely first creating financial products that are simple and easy to understand for them. The second is to reduce transaction costs by presenting digital financial services where users live, including by facilitating agents in the field, for example. Third, reduce the barrier of access which is not only influenced by geographic factors but also factors of knowledge and digital infrastructure. (LM)
