JAKARTA - PT Bank Mayapada Internasional Tbk (MAYA), an issuer with the sixth largest market capitalisation in financial sector, has received permission from its shareholders to issue new shares with a rights issue scheme.

Jennifer Ann, Corporate Secretary of MAYA, explained that the company would issue a maximum of 5 billion shares. Each new share will have a face value of IDR 100 per share. "The total nominal value is as much as IDR 500 billion," said Ann through an information disclosure on Indonesia Stock Exchange today.

For information, MAYA obtained the rights issue license after holding Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders (EGMS) which was held on Monday (4/1). In this meeting, the shareholders also agreed in allowing the management to determine ratio, price and schedule of the rights issue.

According to idnfinancials.com data, MAYA's share price in the last 60 trading days was at the level of IDR 7,460 per share. If the company, owned by conglomerate, Dato Sri Tahir, is able to issue 5 billion new shares based on this price assumption, the total funds raised from this rights issue will reach around IDR 37.3 trillion.
