JAKARTA - TaniHub Group, the agritech startup with the largest growth in Indonesia, once again proven its commitment to improving the quality of agriculture in Indonesia through collaboration with BRI Agro, a banking service developed by the BRI Group as a digital attacker in agriculture.

The collaboration, which is called the “Indonesia Tani” program, aims to accelerate the digitalization of Indonesian agriculture by providing access to finance, providing production facilities, and guaranteeing the sale of agricultural products. As an opening step for this collaboration, TaniHub Group, through TaniFund, will provide farmers with easy access to financing and procurement of production facilities by channeling credit from BRI Agro. Through this step, the TaniFund-assisted farmers can buy seeds, fertilizers, and other means of production which in turn can improve the quality of their products.

Ivan Arie Sustiawan, CEO of TaniHub Group, said that the partnership between TaniFund and BRI Agro can play a big role in improving the welfare of Indonesian farmers through access to finance. “Farmers no longer need to worry about one of their biggest problems, namely access to capital. Even with the TaniHub Group ecosystem, farmers also get market guarantees," said Ivan Arie.

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) noted that the agricultural sector experienced positive growth in the third quarter of 2020, which grew by 2.15% (y0y). Previously, BPS also recorded an increase of 2.19% in the second quarter of 2020. This increase in the agricultural sector has played a major role in Indonesia's economic defense amid the Covid-19 pandemic. (LM)
