JAKARTA - PT Kilang Pertamina Internasional (KPI), a subsidiary of PT Pertamina (Persero) and PT Kimia Farma Tbk (KAEF) will build a paracetamol pharmaceutical factory with a capacity of 3,800 tons per annum (TPA). This was conveyed by Pahala Nugraha Mansury, Deputy Minister of SOE, in a written statement quoted on Friday (8/1).

He said KPI and KAEF had signed a cooperation agreement based on the results of the joint study which included the supply of benzene raw materials, an offtake plan, a transaction scheme and a commercial study, including a project development strategy.

On the other hand, Nicke Widyawati, President Director of Pertamina said that the collaboration with KPI is in the form of processing petrochemical products of benzene and propylene from the Cilacap Unit IV Refinery into Para Amino Phenol (PAF), the raw material for paracetamol. "This is the synergy of SOE from the aspects of business, research, technology to human resources (HR)," he said. (LK/LM)
