JAKARTA - Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) encouraged Ministry of Trade to optimize the free trade agreement for national economy recovery. This was conveyed by Amin Ak, Member of DPR Commission VI in a press release, Wednesday (13/1).

He mentioned that the optimisation of free trade agreements was expected to bring Indonesia out from economic recession. Amin said that domestic economic activity could not be as fast as expected, because herd immunity had not yet been formed.

According to him, the government could boost state revenues by exporting oil and gas and non-oil and gas commodities from a number of other countries apart from the main trading partners, such as the United States, Japan, India and China. Amin also mentioned that based on Capital Investment Coordinating Board data, foreign investment that entered Indonesia became IDR 809.6 trillion in 2019, increased 288% compared to 2009 of IDR 208.5 trillion.
