19 January 2021 09:14

JAKARTA - Erick Thohir, SOE Minister, confirmed that there is no chip in the COVID-19 vaccine that will be injected into health workers. This was conveyed by Erick when reviewing the vaccination activities for health workers at Pertamina Central Hospital, Jakarta, yesterday (18/1).

In the Ministry of SOE’s video documentation seen on Tuesday (19/1), Erick asked about the chip in the Sinovac COVID-19 vaccine to health workers at Pertamina Hospital. "It has contents and there’s no chip. There’s no chip, right?", he said.

During the visit, as many as 20 health workers consisting of doctors, nurses, nutritionists, pharmacists, cleaning officers and ambulance drivers attended the initial vaccine initiation. Currently, PT Pertamina Bina Medika (Pertamedika), as the parent company of SOE Hospital, which oversees 35 hospitals in Indonesia has 18,000 health workers.

"Health workers and public servants, as well as the public, can now be vaccinated without hesitation because the Sinovac vaccine is safe and halal. Vaccination of health workers will optimize services for patients exposed to COVID-19," he added. (LK/LM)
