JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo asked Financial Services Authority (OJK) and financial service industry players to maintain market confidence. This was conveyed by the President at Financial Services Industry Annual Meeting 2021 which took place last weekend.
Quoted from the Ministry of Finance's press release on Tuesday (19/1), the President said that OJK and financial industry players should take firm action against financial transactions that lead to fraud. "OJK supervision should not ‘catch a cold’, must not be ‘infertile’ and must ‘show its fangs’," said Jokowi.
The President emphasised the importance of building integrity and credibility of OJK and other financial services industry players to increase market confidence. For that, he added, it was necessary to build an internal system with international standard so that Indonesian financial services industry would gain more trust from the international community.
