JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo had instructed the involvement of all State Ministries in economic development of 3 border areas. It was stated in Presidential Instruction (Inpres) No.1/2021 concerning the Acceleration of Economic Development in State Border Areas, including Aruk, Motaain, and Skouw.
From the setkab.go.id, quoted on Wednesday (20/1), the President asked all ministries to be involved in the preparation of programs, plans and permits to accelerate the development. Moreover, the Ministry of State-owned Enterprises (SOEs) was asked to involve SOEs in accelerating economic development in those three areas.
The border area in Aruk is located in West Kalimantan, Motaain in East Nusa Tenggara, and Skouw in Papua. The three governors in the three provinces had been instructed to facilitate land preparation, licensing and provide a budget for the plan implementation.
"Ministries and institutions carry out and complete the acceleration program in the three regions no later than two years from the issuance of Inpres," said the President in Inpres third dictum. Presidential Instruction No.1/2021 was issued on January 11, 2021. (LK/VA)
