MEDAN - In the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic hitting the national and global economies, PT Pelabuhan Indonesia I (Persero) or Pelindo 1 has been able to record positive performance throughout 2020.

We are committed to continuously improving our services,” said Pelindo 1 President Director Dani Rusli Utama Tuesday (20/1/2021) in Belawan, North Sumatra.
Pelindo 1's positive performance was supported by the container throughput segment, which grew by 6.35 percent from 1.33 million TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent units) in 2019 to 1.42 million TEUs in 2020. The increase in container throughput was more driven by domestic trade.
A significant increase in container throughput occurred at the Port of Kuala Tanjung, with 125 percent growth. Meanwhile, the largest contribution was contributed by the Belawan Container Terminal (TPK), with a portion reaching 80 percent of the Pelindo 1 total container throughput. (LM)
